World War II Connection was created by two golfing friends who after a hard day on the course discussed our mutual interests. It turned out that we both had an interest in history and specifically World War Two. One thing was obvious from our conversations, we both felt that British veterans had been overshadowed in recent years by Hollywood, and the wealth of material produced about the American contribution during World War Two. And although their efforts and sacrifice have and should be remembered both here and in the USA, we both felt that history was being rewritten at the expense of a whole generation and another newer generation not knowing the contribution and sacrifice our own British veterans had given to the free world.
Out of these many conversations an idea took shape. We are pleased to see it realised with both our website and our first Ltd edition release available. We will continue to grow and offer a wide range of products, information and interest to all who share our passion for World War Two and British Veterans in particular.
So who are we? Andy Farr comes from a computer background with immense experience in networks ,web design etc and is the driving force behind our web site. He is in his 40’s and is married to Kerry Ann, they have two grown up children. Apart from World War Two his other passion is his golf and improving his handicap.
My name is Les Tanner, and for my sins have spent a long time in sales and marketing, most recently in the automotive industry. I am in my mid 50’s, married to Diane and we have two grown up sons.
I have had a passion that has been with me for a long time and I am also a very keen collector of signed prints and books myself, so I hope I understand both perspectives, but my golf is terrible.
We hope very much that you will buy from us and will be very happy with our releases, knowing that we are aware of the passion of collecting.
To close I would also like to mention that although we are a commercial concern one of our early conversations turned to the welfare or help we could provide for the aging veterans who’s efforts will be a key to our releases. Bearing that in mind both Andy and myself decided that with every commercial release and sale of a Ltd edition book or print, contributions will be made to either veterans or a nominated organization or charity, and we will publicise these alongside each release. We hope you will enjoy cherish and collect in the knowledge that we are passionate and committed towards this aim.
