This book is a welcome and worthy addition to ATB titles and continues that superb style.
The Battles of Cassino were some of the most ferocious and hard fought actions during the second world war.
Cassino was a strategic town on the road to Rome and the fighting was to continue for over four months and was to cost the lives of more than 14,000 men from eight nations.
Between January and May 1944 forces from Britain,Canada,France,India, New Zealand, Poland and the United States fought against a determined and resolute German Army.
The Battle was to include the still controversial decision for the bombing of
the monastery which dominated the battlefield.
The authors have spent several years studying the battle including walking every aspect of the battlefield and have taken hundreds of comparison photographs which they have included in this very interesting and superbly produced book.
WW2 Connection cannot recommend this book highly enough it is another triumph of research and is a welcome addition to ATB books and is a must to add to your collection.
